ARCHITETCURE AND PHOTOGRAPHY: BY INNOVATION AND CREATIVITY

The Architecture and Urbanism Council as a class entity must represent its professionals and the Brazilian architecture with responsibility, ethics and innovation. Architecture as a creative activity is essentially inspiring, especially when it joins the exuberance of photographic art. Therefore, if CAU-GO’s headquarters should express the beauty of Brazilian architecture, we could transform the work environment into a kind of architectural exhibition. The project aims to combine the contemporary design of open and dynamic work space, where employees are gain productivity, with alignment due to the entity’s institutional character.

INTEGRATION AND FLUIDITY

We sought maximum spatial integration respecting activities that sometimes require privacy. Mobile partitions that works as folding doors run from floor to ceiling and enable closure or opening between the Presidency, Directory, Committees and Plenary. In addition, the GETEC and GEFISC workstations are open to the Administrative, and the Interactive Space and the Cup are separated by semi-transparent screened glass partitions.

TECHNICAL AND CONSTRUCTIVE DECISIONS

We chose not to use the raised floor due to the change of level that would change the sanitary parts and hydraulic points. Keeping the hydraulic cores intact, the choice for the apparent installations is more practical, economical, easy to maintain, and aesthetically appealing within a tectonic concept of solidity. The white paint of ceiling, the electroplates, luminaires and air conditioning ducts, balance the apparent stiffness with the chromatic lightness. The porcelain floor was only overlaid with carpet and acrylic resin.

FURNITURE AND FLEXIBILITY

The existing furniture was completely used in the project area and some units were added to complement the project. The spaces flexibility is especially due to the movable partitions, ducts and apparent pipes, which facilitate the maintenance and change of layout, without having to break or adjust ceiling modules. The spaces integration and fluidity nature that constitute the project’s essence, by itself already qualifies it with a high standard of uses flexibility.
