SCHOOL GYM

The School Gym stands out for its bold structural conception, that provides an outstanding aesthetic, at the same time that promotes the constructive rationality through the pre-fabrication and modulation. The steel structure is formed by a transverse set that repeats, where the slanted circular columns have tensioned steel cables that helps to stabilize the trusses.

The thermal and acoustic comfort was carefully developed, especially in the roof solution, which have openings for the air might circulate. The large shutters of the facades also contributes for cross ventilation. The use of natural light takes place through translucent tiles intercalated in the roof.

The flow of people and restrooms’ location consider the logistics of the general public and the teams playing in the gym. Through simple and efficient solutions, this Gym is the concrete expression of architecture incorporated into the sport.
