UHC-SAMANBAIA

The proposal for construction of five residential buildings in Samanbaia, Federal District, starts from the premise of requalification of the surrounding urban spaces. The waste spaces generated between the lots were converted into paved and woody esplanades, helping to connect adjacent roads while promoting new paths for pedestrians. The urban approach of the project is configured in a broad sense of collectivity and citizenship.

The main access road, 2nd South Avenue, was connected to the building through the esplanade and the bike path, which in our proposal extends its route to the south, west, and along the avenue. The building typology developed in pilotis offers an inviting space for public flow, while protecting the conditions of restricted access for residents to the hall of stairs and elevators, and to the garage in underground.

The architectural typology is striking in plasticity and preserves the constructive qualities of economicity and feasibility for social interest housing. The apartment blocks, 4 per floor, in 8 stories, has 2 different layouts, and are composed of structural concrete blocks with variations in the positions of balconies. The central volume was created as a space for social living, with benches, tables, chairs, in a twisted volume of concrete and metal stairs.
