CRUZEIRO STADIUM

Arena Celeste is born to be a benchmark that visually and functionally reflects the identity of Cruzeiro as one of the great teams of Brazilian soccer. The Arena places the crowd close to the action of the game and makes it act effectively as the twelfth player of the team. The multifunctional stadium has a capacity of 60,000 people, incorporates modern concepts of environmental and economic sustainability, and meets FIFA’s recommendations for World Cup stadiums.

Public parking has a capacity of 8,867 vehicles, designed to ensure perfect flow in the most extreme situations. The infrastructure has large access viaducts, walkways, bus stops, subway station and a helipad. Above the cars’ parking lot, an extensive terrace invites the fans to the monumental arena, accessed by stairs and ramps, with a beautiful landscape view.

The structure is the definer of the formal structure, in such a way that one confuses with the one another and configures the work’s aesthetic language. The reinforced concrete structure of the grandstands is ideal to withstand the vibrations, and the roof’s steel structure gives the necessary lightness to cover a large area and overcome the gaps. In the external composition of the stadium, the glass curtainwall surrounds the oval body of the building with transparency and reflectivity. The blue aluminum follows the undulations of the grandstands. Between the two, a steel grid with spaced openings. Horizontal brises finished in stainless steel join the amazing roof steel.

In addition to placing the public close to the game’s action, visibility studies ensure that all seats will have unobstructed views to the field. Two large screens and advanced sound systems brings the game informations, and a set of spotlights fixed on the roof provides perfect lighting for nightly spectacles.

The Celeste Arena is also multifunctional. A network of shops and food courts can offer stands for other events, including the stadium’s surroundings. VIP fans and the press are also well served, with great facilities and optimization of people flow.
